{"id":1861,"date":"2017-12-31T00:37:39","date_gmt":"2017-12-31T04:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/friendsofportsmouthisland.org\/fopi\/?p=1861"},"modified":"2025-04-24T17:41:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T17:41:39","slug":"portsmouth-homecoming-april-21-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/friendsofportsmouthisland.org\/fopi\/portsmouth-homecoming-april-21-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Portsmouth Homecoming &#8211; April 21,  2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->The theme for Homecoming this year is \u201cA Step Back in Time.\u201d \u00a0The Styron-Bragg house, the Wallace-Grace House and the Jesse Babb House are among the several houses that will be open for this one day. \u00a0Jim White, FPI board member, descendant and Portsmouth historian, will emcee the program under the tent. \u00a0We have some great door prizes to offer through our raffle, and the first 500 people who arrive that day will receive the coveted commemorative Homecoming pin for 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Reservations to Portsmouth should be made in early April by calling Rudy Austin at 252-928-4361. \u00a0The cost is $20 per person, round trip. \u00a0Please do not call before early April.<\/p>\n<p>The NC Ferry Service often changes schedules. \u00a0You should contact them directly for the latest schedules and prices -1-800-293-3779 or www.ncferry.org. \u00a0The boats to Portsmouth load at the NPS docks at Ocracoke. \u00a0Park your car and follow the crowd!
