We had a good turnout of 39 people, and everyone enjoyed Dr. Stanley Rule\u2019s fascinating and well-researched presentation on the hunting &amp; fishing clubs, also known as the \u201ccabin culture\u201d, of Eastern North Carolina. The scholarship was awarded to Mason Anderson, daughter of Tom and Crystal Anderson. Mason is a freshman at East Carolina University majoring in art education, hoping to become an art teacher \u2013 and following in the footsteps of her great grandmother, Lucy Gilgo, who taught school in Portsmouth Village.
