The ferry prices and schedules are subject to change before April, so make your own plans and reservations. \u00a0At this time, walk-ons do not need reservations. \u00a0From Ocracoke to Portsmouth, you will need reservations with Rudy Austin. \u00a0<strong>If coming from Hatteras or if already on Ocracoke,\u00a0<\/strong>you will still need reservations with Rudy.<\/p>\n<p>Reservations to Portsmouth from Ocracoke should be made with Rudy at 252-928-4361 ($20 per person, round trip). \u00a0Do not call Rudy until the first of AprIl.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469);\">4WD owners might drive from the Long Point Camps. \u00a0Catch the vehicle ferry from Atlantic, then travel 17 miles up the beach to Portsmouth. \u00a0Contact Morris Marina at Atlantic for reservations (252-225-4261).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You may, of course, travel in your own boat!<\/p>\n<p>1. Dress for the weather and the boat ride. \u00a0Bug spray, water, and good walking shoes are important. \u00a0Your picnic items, chairs, etc, will be loaded onto an ATV cart to be carried into the \u00a0village for you as you walk in.<\/p>\n<p>2.Portsmouth t-shirts \u00a0and notecards will be available for a donation. \u00a0The Portsmouth post office will be open and a special cancellation will be available for that day only.<\/p>\n<p>3. \u00a0The Portsmouth Methodist Church building is 100 years old in 2014 . \u00a0This will be the focus of Homecoming this year. \u00a0The Methodist Bishop of North Carolina will be our special guest. \u00a0Due to damage From Hurricane Sandy, the church may not be open, but we will still celebrate her birthday!<\/p>\n<p>4. \u00a0After Homecoming services, \u00a0&#8220;dinner on the grounds&#8221; will be served. \u00a0Be sure to bring a dish that will be shared with others. \u00a0Paper products, tea and ice will be provided by FPI.<\/p>\n<p>5. \u00a0Major buildings will be open. \u00a0FPI \u00a0members, many of whom are family members related to each building, will be on-site hosts at those buildings. The Washington Roberts house \u00a0will be open for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>6. \u00a0At the Henry Pigott house, James and Celestine Carter, Elaine Clark , and Phillip Howard will\u00a0<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469);\">be there to greet you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>7. \u00a0At the Washington Roberts house, Jean Webber (Roberts descendent) and Dr. Michael Rikard of CLNS will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony which will be held at 9:00 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>8. \u00a0Lionel Gilgo (son) and Gregory Gilgo (grandson) will be at the Lionel and Emma Gilgo house.<\/p>\n<p>9. \u00a0James Charlet and Linda Malloy of the Chicamacomico Lifesaving station will be at the Portsmouth Lifesaving station.<\/p>\n<p>10. \u00a0At the Annie &amp; Theodore Salter house, Barbara Gaskin-Eugene (granddaughter), Debbie Gaskins Penny ( Grand<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469);\">daughter), and Patrick\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469);\">Eugene \u00a0(great grandson) \u00a0and Phillip Gaskins (great grandson) will be there to meet you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>11.
