SAVE THE DATE!! Our fall membership meeting will be held on Saturday, September 19 at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum on Harkers Island. NOTE THAT THE MEETING WILL BEGIN AT 9:00 AM, AN HOUR EARLIER THAN THE “USUAL” STARTING TIME. You won’t want to miss it. We will be electing officers and directors for the 2027/2028 term, and we hope our new Cape Lookout National Seashore Park Superintendent, Laura E. Rich Acosta, will be there to introduce herself and give us a Park update. Our guest speaker will be Katie Daugherty from the Outer Banks History Center, who will share photos and information about Portsmouth. In addition, we’ll have the drawing for the raffle that was supposed to have been held at the canceled 2026 Homecoming. Members – if you haven’t yet purchased and sent in your tickets, there’s still time! Just make sure that you mail them in by September 4. There are some wonderful items in this raffle; you don’t need to be present to win. AND – WE WILL HAVE OUR FIRST EVER SILENT AUCTION! See the bottom of this notice for photos and a description of each auction item. You don’t need to be a member to attend our meetings – all are welcome!! Come join us!
